Wonderful Weather

We have been taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather to be outside. We try to do at least some of our schoolwork outside each day and I confess I've let a couple of the less important things slide in the afternoon, so the kids can be outside as long as possible. We have all winter when we're stuck inside to catch up. Sometimes when they go out they just play with trucks or swing or ride bikes.

But often they come up with more elaborate games. Here's Rebekah in her wheelchair and then walking with her crutches.

Warming themselves by the fire.

Here are their winter provisions (notice the pine straw tied up in bundles with grass).

"Meat" for their journey.
Hay in the loft.
Other food.
Stew.
Pie.
They have this system to make their dirt very fine. They dig it up,
then sift it through a koosh paddle into a frisbee.

It's lots of fun, but makes lots of dirty hands,

dirty feet,
and lots and lots of laundry!
