We want to try again at the beach and with better light, but these were fun!

My engagement ring had a broken prong and I had not been wearing it for quite some time. John took it to have it repaired for me and came home with it tonight. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. (I said "yes"). The kids were hilarious because first they gasped and then they just all looked confused. Anyway, I wanted my picture for the day to be my ring. I tried at first taking a picture of it on my hand, but then thought about the pictures that wedding photographers do with the rings. They lay them on Bibles or the bride's flowers or the program. Something like that. So, I started thinking what would be significant in my life that I could photograph the ring with and I immediately thought of Legos. I asked the boys and they built this minifigure specially to look as close to John as they could.

This picture did not turn out quite how I envisioned it. I knew I hadn't taken a picture for the day, and while we were praying before bed I looked up and saw the picture on the mantel (It says Pray in large letters and underneath it says, "Prayer Changes Things"). So after we finished praying I had Christina pose. In the foreground, she is more out of focus than I wanted. But when I tried to change the aperture and take the picture again, I started getting an error. Apparently something wrong with my 50 mm lens I thought I fixed. So, not only could I not try again to get the photo I was thinking of, my lens is broken again, but with a less easily fixed problem. So, I'm a little bummed.
